By investing in bold, equity-driven initiatives, the Youth Fund works to ensure that Northern New Mexico youth—especially young people of color, opportunity youth, young parents, and others facing systemic barriers—have the connections, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed.
The first pooled fund of its kind to be established in Northern New Mexico, The Youth Fund brings together philanthropic, state, tribal, and federal resources to support innovative Career Technical Education (CTE) and Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs for youth ages 13 to 29. These programs provide real-world skills, mentorship, and career pathways that lead to meaningful employment and long-term economic well-being. In addition to funding direct services, the Youth Fund invests in a regional resource hub to support grantees through implementation, shared learning, and securing sustainable funding so they can have a greater impact.
Applications are reviewed and awarded by a committee composed of Strategy Table members, public funders, community stakeholders, and young people whose backgrounds represent those the Strategy Table aims to prioritize. By strengthening local organizations’ abilities to offer support and opportunities to all young people in Northern New Mexico, the Youth Fund is putting them on a pathway to successful careers and fulfilling lives.
